Gateway Harvest Church
Pastor David and Rebecca Cook are from the St. Louis area and have both worked in ministry as well as in public education for several years. In 2017, they embarked on a journey to plant a new ministry in South St. Louis City. During that time, they engaged in street ministry and outreaches of various types. In 2019, they were asked to go to Columbus, Ohio where they worked on staff with World Harvest Church and in the City Harvest Network offices. They have served in ministry as youth pastors, associate pastors, senior pastors, and as support staff to other pastors around the nation and the world in their ministry fellowship.
In addition to pastoral ministry, David has engaged in missions work in both Kenya and Nigeria, where they aided ministries in those countries to drill wells for clean drinking water, plant churches, and assisted with the establishment of a school. Becca has directed children’s ministries at various churches and served as the general manager of a daycare center operated through their church in Ohio.
David is an adjunct professor at Valor Christian College where he teaches courses in missions, youth ministry, church leadership, and marriage and family. He published his first book in 2018, Restored: From Failure to Faith and Freedom. Additionally, David is a member of the John Maxwell Team where he provides consulting and training to various organizations. He holds an associate degree in pastoral ministry, a bachelor’s degree in business, and a master’s degree in education and counseling. He will be completing his doctorate in educational leadership in 2023-2024. Becca holds a bachelor’s degree in teaching. The Cook’s have been married for 29 years and have four children.
The Cook’s have a vision for the church to be a multicultural, multi-generational church that is full of the love, grace and mercy of God that will reach our city, our region, and our world with the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through ministry both here and abroad…ministry through education and ministry to and through leaders in the body of Christ. Their mission is to REACH out to the world around us with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to REVIVE others by the power of the Holy Spirit, and to RESTORE people to their God-intended purpose and destiny.
